The rescue brigade has taken someone out of the water tonight and resuscitated on the beach at Sint Maartenszee at Sint Maartensvlotbrug. CPR was unsuccessful and the man died.
The man was removed from the sea around 7:15 p.m., after which emergency services immediately began CPR. A police spokesman said that unfortunately it no longer helped and that the man has died.
What exactly happened and how the swimmer got into trouble is not clear at the moment.
