A man has stolen at least eleven electric bicycles in various places in West Brabant in a few months. The bikes together are worth more than thirty thousand euros. The police do not rule out the fact that the man is part of a group of criminals who are aiming for valuable bicycles.

On images in the Bureau Brabant Investigation Program you can see that the man steals a total of eleven electric bicycles in Breda, Bavel, Gilze, Made and Oosterhout.

“This man steals bicycles for a sloppy thirty thousand euros,” says police spokesman Malou Joosten-Stillekens. “This makes offenses that are at first glance suddenly not that small anymore.”

The police suspect that the man is also involved in bicycle thefts in Teteringen, Berkel-Enschot, Oisterwijk, Sint-Oedenrode and Oirschot.

The same place
The man strikes for the first time on 1 February 2024 at De Burcht shopping center in Breda. That turns out to be a suitable place to steal bicycles, because the man returns there on 8 May. Even then he will open a bicycle slot within a few seconds and he will run off by bike.

The thief would like to strike at stores, because on 3 September he steals a bicycle at the Jumbo on Stationsstraat in Made. A few days later, on September 9, he steals another bicycle at De Burcht shopping center in Breda.

Three times in one day
On September 13 he strikes three times in one day. First on Lange Wagenstraat in Gilze, then on the Pastoor Doensstraat in Bavel and finally at the Action on the Rijnauwenstraat in Breda.

The police do not know what happened to the other bicycles in the meantime. The police do not exclude the fact that the man will work with other criminals.

Theft in garden
The thief is very brutal on September 16 if he steals an electric bicycle from a garden on Kerkstraat in Bavel. The same day he strikes again at the Jumbo on Stationsstraat in Made.

On surveillance images of a gym on the Bijster in Breda, the man is full in the picture when he steals an electric bicycle again on 23 September. Moments later he steals a bike at the Arendshof shopping center in Oosterhout.

The police ask people who know more about the thefts to report.
