A thief with extreme patience has stolen an expensive set of jewelry from a jeweler in Eindhoven. With an excuse, the man waited until he was alone in the shop. After two hours he saw his chance and grabbed an expensive set of jewelry from behind the counter. He then fled with the loot worth 5,000 euros.
The man struck at a jeweler in Eindhoven’s Kruisstraat on December 21, but the police only announced this on Thursday. She also brings out recognizable images of the man.
The man entered the jewelry store around half past three that Saturday. He said he was interested in a necklace and bracelet set that was in the window. To show it to him, the jeweler took the jewelry out of the display window.
Waited for two hours
The thief said that he and his brother wanted to give the set as a gift to another family member. He then started calling and told the jeweler that his brother was on his way to view the set of jewelry. But he still had to drive quite a distance.
All told, the man sat in the store for about two hours, making phone calls. When he was alone in the shop at some point, he saw his opportunity. He ducked behind the counter and took jewelry out of the box.
Almost got caught
On the way back he was almost caught when he bumped into an employee. He quickly hid the jewelry, which can also be seen on camera images, and with an excuse that his brother was waiting for him outside, the woman let him go. It wasn’t until he was outside that she discovered the jewelry box was empty. The man made off with a necklace and a bracelet with a total value of 5,000 euros.
The police share camera images of the man in the hope that people recognize him. It concerns an Arab boy between 25 and 30 years old with a black beard. He wore an expensive, black Parajumper jacket, a Prada brand belt bag and silver designer glasses. He was also wearing light blue jeans and black shoes with a white print, probably from the Balenciaga brand.
