A man was seriously injured on Tuesday afternoon after a fall at a company in Someren-Eind. The victim was rushed to the hospital in Nijmegen. Due to the seriousness of his injuries, a trauma doctor drove along in the ambulance.
What exactly happened in the industrial accident in Someren-Eind is still unclear, but the man is in need of it. He drove the ambulance to the carpool place on the willow in Lierop, along the N266.

A trauma helicopter also flew to that location and the trauma doctor then stepped out of the heli and in the ambulance. The doctor then treated the victim for some time in the vehicle.
Then the ambulance left for the Radboud Hospital in Nijmegen. The trauma doctor drove along to be able to further treat the victim and to keep it stable during the ride.

Rapid treatment
The fact that a trauma helicopter and ambulance are towards each other during an emergency ride is more common. Sometimes a victim has to go to the hospital as quickly as possible, but let the trauma team wait.
It is sometimes chosen that the ambulance is already traveling as much as possible towards the hospital and the trauma doctor will fly to a meeting place with the helicopter. There the trauma doctor then steps into the ambulance to further stabilize the victim or even operate in the ambulance.
