A man died in an accident at work in a tunnel construction site in Berlin-Mitte.
The accident happened in the morning in an underground supply tunnel 30 meters below the city near Rolandufer, the fire brigade said on Friday. Several construction workers provided first aid on site.

The emergency services tried to resuscitate the man, but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident. Details of the accident and other information about the victim were still unclear on Friday afternoon.
The State Office for Occupational Safety is now examining how the accident happened.
