After an almost fatal knife attack in Neukölln, a murder squad is now investigating.

As police and public prosecutors announced on Sunday, a man (34) was critically injured in an altercation. He had to be operated on immediately in a hospital. The attack happened on Friday around 6:50 p.m.

According to the police, the 34-year-old got into an argument with two still unknown men in a shop on Karl-Marx-Platz. Shortly afterwards, all three are said to have left the store. Outside, the argument apparently escalated. After a few minutes, the man returned to the store with life-threatening injuries.

The 8th Homicide Commission has started an investigation into attempted murder. The attackers are on the run.
