The past season was a single disappointment for Jack Grialish. During Manchester City’s weak season, the English winger did not know how to convince, only scored 21 percent of all minutes of the game and only came to three goals in 32 missions. At the upcoming club World Cup, the 29-year-old should not even belong to the Skyblues squad-which can be seen as a signal for a sale this summer.
According to a report by the “Telegraph”, coach Pep Guardiola does not use Geralish at the tournament in the USA from June 14 to July 13. In the Citizens’ squad, Jérémy Doku (23), Phil Foden (25), Bernardo Silva (30) and Savinho (21) have the front on the wings, including youngsters such as Claudio Echeverri (19) or Oscar Bobb (21) were last replaced in front of the English international.
Now the question arises in summer whether Geralish can get more playing time in the coming season or whether a transfer is necessary with a view to the 2026 World Cup. The non-nomination for the club World Cup should be a first indication that Guardiola is no longer planning with the former 117 million shopping. Its contract in Manchester is still valid until 2027.
The ten -time English champion can no longer expect a replacement that lies in the area of the purchase price. The market value of Geralish fell from 60 million to 28 million euros in the past season alone, after the transfer of 2021 it was even 100 million euros. The right foot was recently associated with the Everton, FC Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur FC.
