A man was arrested at the end of the afternoon in a house fire on Petrus Campersingel in Groningen, because he was in possession of a weapon.
The street is partly closed, as is part of the bicycle path and sidewalk. Police say officers are wearing bulletproof vests.
After the fire brigade had checked the house, the residents were able to return to their homes.
It is unknown if the man arrested is one of the residents.
