Four men received a 22-month prison sentence for the hostage of a 35-year-old man in Breda in December last year. The court in Breda decided that on Thursday. Bystanders saw the kidnapping happening and called in the police, which started a major chase from Breda to Oosterhout.
The kidnapping had to do with a fight in the relational atmosphere, the police said earlier. The 35-year-old victim was dragged a car and abducted on the Vierwindenstraat in Breda. Bystanders saw this happen and reported to the police. A witness managed to note the license plate and saw in which direction the perpetrators drove away.
Threatened
In the car the men hit the victim against his head several times. The man’s hands were tapeted and his eyes were taped.
The hostages threatened him with a firearm against his head and in his mouth, with a hammer and with threatening words. It was even threatened to inject a spray with HIV.
Pursuit
In the meantime, the police started the chase. With about ten police cars, two engines and a helicopter, the car was chased by Breda and Oosterhout.
The helicopter flew over the A27 and in the Breda area. The police finally managed to drive the car on the Florijnstraat in Oosterhout.
