Man (29) arrested in Veenhuizen for involvement in the murder of Peter R. de Vries

A 29-year-old man was arrested in his cell in the Penitentiary Institution Veenhuizen on Monday on suspicion of involvement in the attack on the life of Peter R. de Vries on July 6, 2021.

This is reported by the Public Prosecution Service.

The man was sentenced to five years in prison in 2022 for trafficking in hard drugs and firearms.

Part of criminal group

Crime reporter Peter R. de Vries was shot in Amsterdam on July 6, 2021. He died nine days later. “The man arrested today is probably part of the criminal group that was involved in the murder of De Vries, among other things,” the OM reports.
