A novice driver was caught by the traffic police speeding on the A17 at the Noordhoek junction, between Fijnaart and Zevenbergen. The 21-year-old man from the Rotterdam area drove 162 kilometers per hour on a road with a speed limit of 70 kilometers per hour. The road pirate was also under the influence of cannabis.
According to the traffic police, it is the third time this year that the driver has been caught driving under the influence of cannabis. The steering wheel of his car had been replaced with a sports model without an airbag and the car no longer had a muffler.
His driver’s license and car have been seized. The police gave him a ticket and reported it to the CBR.
