Lewis Holtby has found a new club – and changes to the Netherlands. The 34-year-old joins Nac Breda and signed a contract there until 2026. The change is free of charge after his contract had expired at Holstein Kiel.

The central midfielder has plenty of experience: 225 games in the Bundesliga, 137 in the 2nd Bundesliga, 38 in the Premier League and 21 in the Europa League are in his vita. Stations included HSV, Schalke 04, Tottenham Hotspur and Mainz 05. He also played three caps for the DFB team.

“I felt a lot of trust in the conversations that I have held with those responsible for the club and I am very happy to start here. Let’s go,” said Holtby. Breda’s technical director Peter Maas said: “With Lewis we have a lot of experience for our team. In the conversations we immediately felt a connection, also because he is a real enthusiast and crowd favorite.”

In the meantime, the Erkelenzer native had also thought about moving to Dubai, but has now decided to stay in Europe.
