Malfunction at ING paralyzes internet banking across the country: thousands of complaints | Economy

ING is experiencing a national malfunction with internet banking and the banking app, the bank confirmed on Friday morning. Customers can log in but cannot transfer money. ING is currently investigating what is going on and how long the outage will last, says a spokeswoman.

The outage affects private and business customers of the bank. They cannot transfer money to other people’s accounts or to their own savings account. According to the spokeswoman, payment via iDEAL and in shops is possible, as is cash withdrawal from an ATM.

Thousands of reports have been made on the website allestoringen.nl from 09:00 on Friday morning from customers who are suffering from the malfunction, which comes on the day that many people receive their salary. The spokeswoman apologizes on behalf of the bank and reports that a solution is being worked hard behind the scenes.

Last month, ING also suffered a malfunction, which made it impossible to bank online for at least thirteen hours. That was because internal systems no longer communicated properly with each other.
