A very large fire has been raging since Sunday evening in a distribution center of online supermarket Picnic aan de Zeearend in Almelo. The entire building is on fire, according to the fire department.
The fire brigade is present with several vehicles. The extinguishing activities are now aimed at preventing the fire from spreading to neighboring buildings.
A lot of smoke is released during the fire, which can be seen for miles around. The fire service is warning residents to stay out of the smoke and to keep windows and doors closed. The distribution center is located next to a hospital. According to the fire service, the hospital is not affected by the smoke.
