PThe digitalisation of services dedicated to families who hire domestic workers continues. INPS has started to gradually stop using paper slips for the payment of contributions of housemaids, carers and babysitters. The news concerns thousands of domestic employers who to date they received pre-filled forms for the quarterly payment at home. The declared objective is to eliminate paper in favor of faster, traceable and always available digital tools.
Maids and carers contributions, stop to paper bulletins, but not for everyone
From this year, therefore, INPS will no longer send paper bulletins to domestic employers. There are, however, those who will continue, instead, those who receive the annual letter are those who are 76 years old or older. The distinction was designed to accompany older people towards the new online tools, avoiding an abrupt transition. However, the direction is clear: the paper-based system is destined to disappear completely in the coming years.
Why we’re going digital
The change, however, is not just organizational. INPS, in fact, aims to make the payment: simplerbecause it is accessible at any time; saferthanks to digital traceability; fasterwithout shipping times or risk of mail loss.
The payment of contributions takes place via pagoPAthe national platform that allows payments to be made to the Public Administration in a standardized and controlled way.

Where to pay now
The main point of reference for paying contributions to domestic workers, is the INPS official website in the section “Payment Portal – Domestic Workers”.
Through the online service, active 24 hours a day, every day of the week, the employer can: generate the alert pagoPA payment system; pay directly online by credit card, debit card or bank account; use other tools provided by the pagoPA circuit; consult and reprint receipts of payments already made.
Also in the bank, post office and home banking
Those who prefer not to pay directly from the site, it can however use more traditional channels. With the pagoPA notice, which contains an identification code and a QR code, the payment can also be made at banks, post offices and through other payment service providers participating in pagoPA.
It is also possible pay via home banking, also through the CBILL circuitthe system that allows you to pay bills and notices directly from your online account, if your bank supports it.
Apps to pay from your smartphone
Contributions can also be paid via mobile application, through the INPS Mobile App And the Italian public services app IO which allows you to receive alerts and complete payments to the Public Administration. In this way the entire procedure can be managed from your smartphone, without printing anything.
Naturally, you can also turn to accountants and employment consultants and other authorized intermediaries, who can use a dedicated function to massively generate pagoPA alerts. This tool is particularly useful for those who manage multiple domestic work relationships at the same time.
Be careful of phone calls and possible scams
INPS is contacting some employers by telephone to provide information and support on the new system. The Institute, however, clarified that during these calls payments will never be requested, personal credentials, device codes or bank details. Therefore be careful.
It is an important clarification in a period in which telephone scams linked to public bodies are increasingly frequent. For any type of assistance the INPS Multichannel Contact Centerwhich offers information and operational support and allows you to make a telephone appointment to be guided step by step.
Maid and carer contributions updated with inflation
The news on digitalisation is part of a broader framework: in recent weeks it has also been made official the adjustment of contributions due for domestic workers and carers based on inflation. This means that the amounts to be paid may have changed compared to the previous year, and it is therefore even more important to carefully check the notices generated online.
A transformation that is now definitive
The end of paper bulletins represents a further step in the digital transformation of the Public Administration. AND for many families this is a significant change in habitsespecially for those who were used to receiving everything by post. The system, however, still remains flexible. The goal is to make the transition gradualkeeping different channels available according to needs. However, the direction is drawn and clear: much less paper and more digital.
