Magistrale Grevelt surprises with bronze at 1000 meters, Schouten supreme at mass start

Isabel Grevelt had an evening to remember at the World Cup in Heerenveen. Twenty-year-old Pettense made her debut in the A group and immediately came third in the 1000 meters. Irene Schouten from Hoogkarspel was by far the best at the mass start later in the evening.

Grevelt won the 1000 meters in the B group last week. As a result, she was allowed to start the kilometer with the A group. The skater from Petten drove a time of 1.14.54. A personal best for the skater. It eventually earned bronze.

Schouten from Hoogkarspel drove a phenomenal mass start later in the evening. She made a gap with the peloton halfway through the race, with eight laps to go. In the end, she almost overtook the rest of the skaters for one more lap. Schouten will be in action on the three kilometers on Sunday.
