SC Magdeburg’s handball high-flyers remain undefeated in the European League.
The Bundesliga leader, who has already qualified for the round of 16, beat Swedish champion IK Sävehof 31:25 (17:13) on Tuesday and secured victory in group C with the eighth win in the ninth game. They only missed out on the third matchday the Magdeburgers at BM Logrono La Rioja (29:29) a victory.
Füchse Berlin, who have already qualified for the round of 16, also achieved their eighth win in their ninth group game. The Berliners, who again had managing director Bob Hanning on the coaching bench, won 35:32 (20:16) at the Spanish club Bidasoa Irun. Lasse Andersson was the best thrower in Berlin with nine goals. In the last group game on March 8th, there will be a direct duel against Wisla Plock for the group victory.
TBV Lemgo Lippe, on the other hand, did not get more than 29:29 (15:12) against the previously point-less bottom of the table Riihimäen Cocks from Finland. The German cup winners, fourth in Group B, have already qualified for the round of 16 (March 29 and April 5).
