MAFS blog: “That opening dance was so awkward it hurt a bit”

I asked for more and I got more. Last week I already wrote about sabotaging Arjan, but that turned out to be only part 1 of the whole story. Arjan says he still had to get used to his husband’s face, but he meant: what am I doing here, why am I married to someone I don’t know, do I really have to dance with him later, can he stop with me like this? look deeply, do I really have to sleep in the same bed with him, how can I get out of here? And ASAP!?

Childish behavior

It’s getting a little sad for Maurice. He is so positive and sweet, but he met someone who actually had doubts before he stood at the altar. Arjan doesn’t feel a click, sees no match and has no feeling. He resists everything so much that it almost becomes a little childish. No, I don’t want to dance. No, I don’t want to do the experts’ order. I. want to. nasty. House. Yeah okay, that opening dance. That was also so uncomfortable that it hurt a little bit. The family was still drinking coffee and they stood there between the tables, turning circles with each other. But Maurice couldn’t help that either. Keeping naming it and being the rude groom really only made it worse. Not only for him, also for Maurice and for the viewer.

Gamba’s not with his coat on

If I say: “Have you also a menu from paper?”, then of course every viewer knows where I want to go. Oh, Sander and Astrid. My favorites. If it doesn’t seem to work between these two (I squeeze it a little…) then I think it would be great fun to be on a Spanish island with Astrid ‘prawns not with his coat on’ to eat. Unfortunately, that message did not quite get across, but that is no reason for Astrid to become grumpy. Will that woman ever not smile at all? Well, as long as she keeps smiling, things will be fine between the two. But then Sander really has to keep his mouth shut now and then…

Mother’s Approval

The meeting between Joep and Caroline was a bit awkward, but it actually turned out much nicer than I thought. I didn’t see it happening based on the first images, but the vows of the two were both very sweet and especially for someone who indicated that they had to loosen up (Caroline), I thought it was quite nice. An extra plus: the mothers seemed to get along just fine. The approval of his mother is certainly a step in the right direction for Joep.

The best for last

Dylan and Sonny will be the last to tie the knot next week. The two sweet boys seem to match well at first glance, but we have learned from Arjan and Maurice that that first meeting does not immediately say everything. So maybe the program makers have saved the best for last and it will be laughing very loudly or crying very loudly or yelling very loudly at the television. We will see.
