Some with great success, others with more mixed reviews. Now one of the largest pop icons should also receive a film-but not as a movie, but as a mini series.
Madonna-Biopic from the “Deadpool & Wolverine” creator
The news is there. According to the “Hollywood Reporter”, director Shawn Levy is supposed to work on a mini series on Madonna for the streaming giant Netflix. Madonna (66) should have a say. Production is to be created in cooperation with Levy’s production company “21 Laps Entertainment”.
Shawn Levy already has some successful projects. Most recently, “Deadpool & Wolverine” was in the cinemas. His “Museum” series should also be known to many.
What is the focus?
Since the production is still at a very early stage, little has so far been known about the concrete content. The series should both Madonna’s life and their career – however, whether it is a comprehensive biography or only a certain phase of life is still unclear. So far there are no cast news.
Already planned, put on ice and resumed
It is not the first time that a film adaptation of Madonna’s life is planned: As early as 2020, it was known that the singer herself wanted to implement her life as a film with the title: “Who’s that girl”. At that time, rumors also circulated that Julia Garner was supposed to take on the leading role. In 2023, however, the project was put on hold for the time being – including Madonna’s world tour.
Last year, however, she indicated in an Instagram post that she was working on the project again. However, details were not delivered afterwards.
