Made the same: Gone is the Surfshop at the Noord Aa

The prefab building of Surfshop Funsport van Vliet has been located on the Lange Land for 42 years. A place on the Zoetermeer lake from where you can go on the water with your surfboard or supboard. But suddenly the building has disappeared and an empty piece of land has been created. What happened there?

Funsport van Vliet sells surfboards, stunt spots, water sports clothing, rollerskates, water games, sunglasses and more. Until recently, you found the store for water sports enthusiasts at Lange Land 5 at the De Noord Aa recreational area.

New shop

The municipality owns the land and of the shop. The owner of Funsport van Vliet, Rodin van der Zwan, says: “The previous building was ready for renewal. The municipality has decided to break it down and have a new building installed. It will again be a prefab building with space for all my store stock.”

Temporarily shopping

The construction of the new building starts after the summer. In the meantime you can just keep shopping at the Surfshop. A temporary store has been placed on the other side of the construction site where you can shop on regular opening hours. You can also continue to do surfing lessons and suptours. Rodin does not yet know when the new store is ready. “I know that placing the new prefab building takes about a week.”
