Luna Jordan’s part as Astrid Kirchherr had not yet been filmed. What will happen next?

The sudden death of actress Luna Jordan apparently has direct consequences for the production of the international Beatles series “Hamburg Days”. Apparently, filming was stopped for the time being after her death became known. Jordan died on May 13 at the age of 25. The news only became public a few days later through her agency.

Filming has apparently not yet been completed

As “Bild” reports, Luna Jordan was in front of the camera for the series until shortly before her death. In “Hamburg Days” she was supposed to play the photographer Astrid Kirchherr, who is considered a close confidant of the early The Beatles and influenced the band photographically during their time in Hamburg.

According to production, Jordan had already completed several days of filming. According to “Bild”, a spokesman explained that their scenes had not yet been completely filmed at this point. It is currently unclear whether the role will be recast or whether material that has already been created can be used. The production did not want to comment on this when asked.

Those involved in “Hamburg Days” include ZDF, the BBC, W&B Television and Turbine Studios.

The public prosecutor sees no evidence of foul play

There is still no official information about the cause of death. Hamburg senior public prosecutor Mia Sperling-Karstens told “Bild” that there was no evidence of foul play. The death investigation was therefore discontinued.

Jordan’s mother Bettina Ratschew also did not want to comment publicly.

Luna Jordan has recently been working more on larger productions

Luna Jordan has gradually established herself in film and television productions in recent years. At first she was mainly seen in smaller roles and episodic appearances, later followed by larger parts in series formats and international projects. Within the industry she was considered a young actress with a particular interest in historical figures and material.

The role of Astrid Kirchherr in “Hamburg Days” marked a further step in her career. The series is dedicated to the Beatles’ early Hamburg phase – the time in which the band played their first long club appearances and developed their later world-famous image.
