Huhkajat watchman Lukas Hradecky represented by Bayer Leverkusen took a crushing victory under their new head coach.

Leverkusen took the helm this week with a coach quite inexperienced in the big leagues Xabi Alonso. The contract extending to the summer of 2024 was signed with him when Gerardo Seoane was fired due to the team’s poor success.

In Alonso’s debut, Hradecky was between the posts as usual. The Finnish keeper kept a clean sheet as Schalke fell 4–0. The game was a soft landing for the new head coach, as Schalke is one of the teams at the bottom of the Bundesliga.

Hradecky saved one shot on goal as Leverkusen dominated the game for the most part.

Alonso has a previous history of coaching Real Sociedad’s second team and Real Madrid’s junior team. During his own football career, Alonso was part of the standard equipment of the Spanish national team.
