The “Werkelf” loses another long -term service provider: Lukáš Hrádecký joins a traditional club in France.

Bayer Leverkusen’s long -time regular keeper and team captain Lukáš Hrádecký changes with immediate effect to the AS Monaco. The Finnish national soccer goalkeeper receives a two-year contract with the French Ligue-1 club until June 2027. According to media reports, Bayer is to bring at least three million euros for the goalkeeper.

“Despite his contract, which is still valid for a year, we gave Lukáš Hrádecký early after very friendly discussions. It was his wish to be able to play again in the Champions League after a great and intensive time at Bayer 04,” said Leverkusen’s sports director Simon Rolfes according to the club’s announcement.

Hrádecký switched from Eintracht Frankfurt to Werkelf and played a total of 286 competitive games. The Finn has been the clear number one in the Werkelf’s goal since 2018, the team sensationally led the team to the double and decisively shaped the most successful era in the club’s history. After the commitment of the Dutch goalkeeper Mark Flekken, the 35-year-old at Bayer would have threatened to lose his regular place.

For Hrádecký “a personal era” comes to an end. “I lost my heart to the club and the fantastic fans in the Bayarena. After the greatest success of my career, however, there is now a chance to develop my number one status in Monaco and continue to play in the Champions League,” said Hrádecký.

Leverkusen is said to have a successor in view. Goalkeeper Janis Blaswich from RB Leipzig should switch to runner -up. According to media reports, the 34-year-old is said to have already completed the mandatory medical check on Friday and cost a transfer fee of around two million euros.

In Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong (both Liverpool FC), Jonathan Tah (Bayern Munich) and most recently Granit Xhaka (AFC Sunderland), several top performers have recently left the runner -up. There are also rumors of change around the two defenders Piero Hincapie and Alejandro Grimaldo, midfielder Exequiel Palacios and striker Victor Boniface.
