Next bitter setback for Eintracht Braunschweig: The second division club’s injury list is growing. Again it catches a defender.

Eintracht Braunschweig will have to do without central defenders Lukas Frenkert in the coming weeks. As the club announced, the newcomer in the second division game against Arminia Bielefeld suffered a muscle bundle tear in the thigh on Saturday (1-1). The default duration is “several weeks”.

The 25 -year -old Frenkert was only changed to Braunschweig by Ligakon competitor Prussia Münster this summer. There he was on the defensive under the new coach Heiner Backhaus and had been on the pitch in all five competitive games of the current season. “Give everything to be back on the pitch quickly,” Frenkert promised in his Instagram story. He wished the 25-year-old “get well soon.”

Bitter for Eintracht: In addition to Frenkert, Frederik Jäkel, which is also only freshly signed, fails in the central defense due to a cruciate ligament injury for months. Louis Breunig also has to watch a game (0: 2) after his red card in the league game against Karlsruher SC.

The BTSV does not oblige the BTSV directly to be held for central defense until the end of the transfer period. Florian Flick, who came from the 1st FC Nürnberg, can be used both in the defensive midfield and in the defense center.
