Luis Enrique and Maresca: two coaches that Italy has rejected too early and now challenge each other for the throne of world football
Ah, if at the time we Italians had had patience … if we had been more far -sighted … if we had intuited the qualities and potential, instead of stopping at the cold logic of the results … who knows, perhaps now, to play the primacy in the world, we would be there, understood as Italian fans, and not the Paris Saint Germain and the Chelsea who will be played in the afternoon of New York … regrets the antechamber of infelity, all that remains is to reset everything and look forward, if you do not want to end victims of a nostalgia that would not bring anywhere. A fact, however, must be taken into account, if only to not repeat the error and have to complain about the liver pain it produces. Luis Enrique and Enzo Maresca, that is, the two coaches of Paris Saint Germain and Chelsea, started their careers on the bench here in Italy and we did not know how to enhance them, we did not understand the skill and, after a year just (even less in the case of Maresca), we sent them away as if they were mysterious objects that were poorly adapted to our style, our mentality and our needs.
