Status: 04.12.2022 12:28 p.m

That was not a tailor-made start: Tobogganist Felix Loch fell on the track in Innsbruck and had no chance of a podium finish. It was completely different for Austria’s tobogganists.

Felix Loch was sixth after the first race in Innsbruck, Austria. But in the second round on Sunday (December 4th, 2022), Bayern was knocked out in the last corner of the labyrinth – that was the end of the race for him. Loch tumbled to the finish in 15th place. The 33-year-old looked battered, but climbed out of the ice channel on his own.

Austria with a demonstration of power

The Austrians decided the victory among themselves: Like the day before, it was an impressive demonstration of power by the Alpine Republic. Four Austrians took the first four places. Victory went to Nico Gleirscher. At the finish he was +0.044 seconds ahead of Jonas Müller, third was Wolfgang Kindl (+0.095).

Since this season, the two-time Olympic champion Georg Hackl has been strengthening the Austrians – the first results of his work are already clearly visible. “It’s a surprise for me too“Said Hackl in an interview with the sports show.
