Ludovic Blas signs with Stade Rennes: record departure from FC Nantes

FC Stade Rennes have secured the services of Ludovic Blas. The 25-year-old attacking midfielder comes to the Breton capital from league rivals FC Nantes, where he has signed a four-year contract. With a fee of 15 million euros, the Frenchman is the third most expensive transfer this summer in Ligue 1.

In Nantes, Blas advanced to a new record departure alongside Diego Carlos, who also left the club in 2019 for €15m. “I’m moving to a higher level at a club that has a lot of ambition. When you are outside Stade Rennes you realize that there are not many teams before this club. He plays at the top of the table every year,” said Blas, who leaves Nantes after 159 games and 45 goals and 19 assists. While he was the most valuable professional in Nantes with a market value of 20 million euros, he ranks sixth in Rennes.
