It was already clear that the club World Cup will be financially lucrative for FC Bayern. Now the FCB CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen gave an insight into the exact sums.

The club World Cup in the USA is already financially attractive for Bavaria. Jan-Christian Dreesen revealed that the Munich will take $ 30 million (around 27.8 million euros) as a result of the entry fee and an additional bonus as a top European club. In the event of sporting successes, further premiums can be added. In the end, the winner waves more than $ 100 million. Overall, the World Association FIFA releases one billion dollars for the first club World Cup – there is also a solidarity amount of 250 million euros for non -participating teams.

FC Bayern with base camp in Orlando

“First of all, it is a sporty challenge for us. If the only reason to participate would be more financial, then we shouldn’t do that,” said Dreesen, but admitted: “For us as FC Bayern, participation is also economically attractive and of course it becomes more attractive, the further we get.”

FC Bayern will open its base camp in Orlando at the club World Cup. This was announced by CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen and described that this was organizationally with three group games on the east coast. The German football record champion is expected to fly to Florida on June 10, added Dreesen. Whether all players are already there or some who are involved in the national teams beforehand, which is still open.

Dreesen expresses understanding for national coach Nagelsmann

On June 15th, the Munich players will play their first group game against Auckland City and thus just a week after the final in the Nations League. National coach Julian Nagelsmann had announced that when choosing the national soccer player for the tournament from June June June and Stuttgart, he would not take into account the subsequent club world championship.

Bavaria’s CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen expressed understanding for Nagelsmann’s plan. “That’s okay. If I put myself in it, I understand that,” Dreesen in Munich said at the official presentation of the club World Cup. The national coach could not leave out his best players, added the top manager. “Without FC Bayern, the national team would only be worth half.”

Dreesen makes it clear: “No lust trip, but real challenge”

Dreesen underlined that the first world tournament for clubs in the United States is a sporty, attractive task – even if the additional burden for professionals is great. “The players are all hot. We not only want to participate, we want to win. We want to go as far as possible,” said Dreesen. “It is not a lust trip, but a real challenge.”

In addition to Auckland, Bayern also play against the Boca Juniors from Argentina and the Portuguese top Club Benfica Lisbon.
