Left-back Anderson Lucoqui is moving on from Hertha BSC to Eintracht Braunschweig in the 2nd Bundesliga. The 26-year-old signed a contract with BTSV until 2025. Both clubs did not communicate anything about the transfer terms; his working paper with the “Old Lady” would originally have expired at the end of the season. After Hampus Finndell, Lucoqui is Braunschweig’s second transfer on Deadline Day (to the news).
“Anderson Lucoqui has a good football education, it is not without reason that he has already played at the highest national level. He certainly hasn’t had an easy time in terms of football recently, but we are convinced of his qualities and potential. We trust him to be able to increase the competitive situation on our left side with his playful nature,” explained sports director Benjamin Kessel about the left-footer, who has only played for Hertha once for 44 minutes since his free transfer last summer. After half a year they parted ways.
Lower Saxony is the sixth professional station for Lucoqui. “I had good conversations with Eintracht early on, which gave me an incredible feeling. I understand the coach’s path and want to follow it together with the team. I have already played as an opposing player in the Eintracht Stadium and I am really looking forward to playing here as an Eintracht player in the future,” he said.
