In a sensational 10.99 seconds, Gina Lückenkemper (25, starts for SC Charlottenburg) ran to the 100m title at the German Championships in the Olympic Stadium. The blue tartan track is simply their catwalk. In 2018 she became Vice European Champion here and also stayed under the magical 11 second mark in 10.98 seconds.

There were tears of joy at the finish. She says: “I love the Olympic Stadium. Running here is always something special.” Three years ago she moved to Florida/USA to train, but injuries threw her back. Now the cracker comeback.

Too bad: There are only about 3,000 spectators in the stadium, which seemed almost empty. The championship then had to be interrupted for 40 minutes because of a storm warning.

Olympic silver medalist Kristin Pudenz (29) threw the disc at 67.10 m. She has never gone that far. The woman from Potsdam: “At the Olympics in Tokyo, I threw my best performance even after a break in the rain. I thought, what should happen to me, I’ve done it before.”

But Julia Harting (32) was most happy about third place (64.34 m) behind Shanice Craft (64.64 m). The wife of Olympic champion Robert Harting: “I’m so happy. Nobody can imagine how I’ve pushed my limits physically and mentally over the past three years.”

Three years ago she gave birth to her twins. Now the comeback.
