Good news from the Bauer family: little Jan, grandson of Frans Bauer, is doing better. On social media, proud father Jan Bauer shares a warm update about his son Jan, who is now almost five weeks old after a premature birth. “We are so grateful. He is doing so well, growing like crazy and drinking like a champion,” he writes.

Jan Bauer, the second eldest son of Frans Bauer and Mariska, became parents of their first son together with his girlfriend Danique on April 2. The baby was named Jan Johannes Jacobus Chris Bauer. He was born about a month prematurely and had to be immediately admitted to the incubator.

“Earlier than expected, but so welcome and so loved,” Jan wrote at the time with the birth announcement on Instagram. Despite the early arrival, the family quickly announced that both mother and child were doing well.

Step by step stronger
Little Jan was born at the beginning of April and had to be immediately admitted to the incubator because he was born too early. “From a tough start at 34 weeks to almost 5 weeks old today,” he writes.

Things are getting better and he can continue to strengthen step by step. According to his father, there is great relief and joy within the family. “As parents, we couldn’t be more proud.”

Happiness in the family
The arrival of the little one is also a moment of great happiness at home. The family says that dog Zoë is already completely in love with her new ‘best friend’. “Our family is filled with love,” the young father concludes his message.

Grandpa and grandma Bauer previously shared their joy about the birth of their grandson. They said that their ‘heart is almost bursting with pride and happiness’ and spoke of a special and emotional moment when they were allowed to hold him for the first time, after he was allowed out of the incubator for a while.

The moment made a great impression and was described by them as intense, with a great sense of pride and gratitude. “A new little life to love,” they said at the time.
