De Vonk skipped between the young twenties Nicole and Sam last year when they were working together behind the bar on Paaspop. A year after the special moment the couple is back. Not to work, but to enjoy each other and the festival. “But we don’t have the same taste of music,” laughs Sam.
“I thought what a nice boy,” Nicole looks back when she first saw Sam behind the bar at the festival in Schijndel.
“I was the only boy behind the bar and so I was the dick. I had to get a drink and supply the bar,” says Sam. Yet he also had an eye for something else.
“What a nice girl.”
“The girls were working behind the bar. When I saw Nicole, I thought: that’s a nice girl.” The two chatting between working by a lot with each other, but flirting was not immediately the case.
“It was especially fun in the beginning,” laughs Nicole. That changed when Sam suddenly received a message via Instagram. “She asked me if I had come home safely. I decided to respond and one came to the other,” he adds.
The following days Sam was working while Nicole with her friends from Gemonde went to the festival for fun. “Then I often looked him up, but I also saw something of the festival,” she assures.
Nicole and Sam spoke each other every day after the festival and saw each other every week. “After four months we officially got a relationship,” says Sam. This year the couple decided to go back to the place where it all started, but not to work.
“This is our love nest.”
“This is our love nest”, Nicole laughs at their tent at the campsite. “Our spot. It is very special to stand together at the campsite at the place where it started a year ago.”
The couple hopes not only to enjoy each other but also of the artists, although opinions are quite divided. “We don’t have the same taste of music. I want to go to UB40 and the tribute band status quotes,” says Sam.
“I want to go to Guus Meeuwis,” says Nicole determined. “Sam comes from Winssen just across the border with Gelderland so he has to get some Brabant.”
The couple does not expect to get discussions about the interpretation of the festival weekend. “It’s giving and taking,” laughs Sam.
At the other camping guests, the atmosphere is also good on Friday:
