Louis Vuitton packs his suitcase and travels to the world of Web3.
The French luxury fashion house launches its first digital collectible, the Via Treasure Trunk. Based on the history of Louis Vuitton as a luggage manufacturer, the non-fungible token (NFT) is a digital version of the brand’s famous suitcase.
But the digital piece of luggage is not the only thing that buyers of the “Via Treasure Trunk”, which costs 39,000 euros and is limited to just over a hundred pieces, will receive. A physical variant of the suitcase, which combines the digital and physical world, offers a tangible incentive. The “Via Treasure Trunk” also acts as a portal to new, limited-edition products and experiences that will be unveiled through immersive drops at regular intervals throughout the year, Louis Vuitton announced on Tuesday.
In the future, according to Vuitton, the “world of Via” will be expanded with a continuous series of digital keys. Only owners of the “Via Treasure Trunks” will be able to purchase them. The first key will appear a few weeks after the NFT and will unlock the first digital collectible.
Interested parties can register on a waiting list for one of the “Via Treasure Trunks” starting June 8th. The NFT is available in the USA, Canada, France, England, Germany, Japan and Australia.
