Van Gaal spoke words of warning to the Ajax defender, who must realize that with a step to a big club he could jeopardize his place in the World Cup selection.
“A player of his qualities can play in the Premier League, but the question is whether he should make that big step now. If he’s not going to play there, it’s not a good idea. He has to keep playing,” said Van Gaal.
