A few years ago, Louis van Gaal made his cancer public. In a TV show, he now spoke about his current well-being.

Louis van Gaal gave a gratifying update to his health. The former national coach spoke openly about his prostate cancer in the Dutch television program “Humberto” – and made it clear that he is now doing well again.

“I no longer have any complaints through the cancer,” said the 72-year-old. In recent years he had been operated on several times that the situation was temporarily critical. “It looked bad at the time. But in the end everything went well so that I can handle it now.” Van Gaal emphasized that he was examined regularly and that these checks were well. “I’m getting fitter and fitter,” said the Dutch.

Van Gaal had made his illness public in 2022 – at a time when he was still a national coach of the Netherlands. He is currently working as a special consultant at Ajax and continues to regularly present in football.
