Brand broke out around 9.30 pm in the business premises on the Oceansweg. Not much later, the fire brigade scaled up to ‘very large fire’. That is the highest degree in terms of fire alarms.
With a very large fire there will be at least four fire trucks to fight the fire. A mobile command center of the Security Region is also set up.
Because a lot of smoke has been released during the fire, local residents are advised to close their windows and doors and turn off the ventilation systems.
