Loretta Schrijver died at the age of 68 from the effects of cancer. She was still in the middle of life and was often seen on TV. “We are defeated and incredibly sad,” said the RTL top.
The colon cancer that had been established by Loretta Schrijver in 2021 and of which she had been healed, turned out to be returned and meticulous last summer. She said she probably had to go to chemotherapy for the rest of her life, but the rest of her life now appears to be shorter than expected.
Dead
Loretta’s family tells RTL News that she died at the age of 68. In the final phase of her life, the presenter was often seen on television, although in January she still had to cancel recordings of Ranking the Stars for ‘health problems’, as it was then called.
Nobody has seen that it would suddenly go so fast with Loretta. The directors of RTL, Sven Sauvé and Peter van der Vorst, therefore react deeply sadly. “We are defeated and incredibly sad about the unexpected message that Loretta has died. It is hard to understand that she is no longer there.”
Very loved
This is a huge loss, says Sven and Peter. “We are in mind with her partner and wish him and all family and friends around her a lot of strength with this incredible loss.”
“Loretta was a very loved and warm colleague, who meant an incredible amount to RTL and all viewers. With her unsurpassed, she could touch everyone in the heart. We will miss her very much.”
Minor optimist
Jeroen Pauw spent a number of times on his talk show table with Loretta, his former colleague and former lover. “Ah loret. ❤️ The little optimist, still happy with the good days during her illness …”, he writes. “We were the youngsters of the Wereldomroep, in love with each other and the work, ranging from news to Ponypark Slagharen.”
He continues on Instagram: “And about ten later together the duo of RTL News. The relationship was left, but the love remained and occasionally we could pick up the adventures again, as last year at Bar Late. There is a lot to be missed but her infectious laughter will always comfort. ❤️”
Bitterball
Paul de Leeuw, presenter of Ranking the Stars, is in Shock. “No! But next time I am just there again … and with bitterballen!”, You said. Always positive, never nagging and especially curious which book I liked again! And which book she couldn’t put away. And then the smile … dear Loretta! “
Loretta died in the hospital last night. We say goodbye to her in a closed circle.
