A few days ago, a cyclone in western Australia caused blood-red skies. The same natural phenomenon took place on Crete on Wednesday. As a result of a sandstorm from the Sahara, the Greek island briefly appeared to be shrouded in a red haze, which resulted in special images. “It really gave a frightening effect,” says Flemish Pascale Spoormans (54), who has a holiday home on the island.
