LOOK. Putin noticeably mild for Biden after he calls him “son of a bitch”: “Appropriate response to what I have already said” | Abroad

Although American President Joe Biden (81) has once again spoken out against his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin (71), the latter still wants Biden – and not Trump – to be re-elected. Biden called Putin a “son of a bitch” on Wednesday, but the Russian head of state sees no problem with that. “It was an appropriate response,” he says. “And Biden still remains the best option.”

A “crazy SOB”, or a crazy “son of a bitch” or “bastard”: that is what Biden called Putin last Wednesday during a meeting in San Francisco. According to the American president, his Russian counterpart is only causing the world headaches. “We’re stuck with that crazy bastard, Putin, and others,” sneered Biden, who in the past has referred to the Russian president as “war criminal,” “butcher” and “murderer.”

Responding to the lashings, the Kremlin in turn called Biden “a Hollywood cowboy.” “Has Mr. Putin ever used one swear word to address you? That has never happened before. That’s why I think America is undermining itself with this kind of language,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

“Biden remains the best option”

But Putin himself does not seem to be bothered by the insults. In an interview with Russian state television, he even reiterated that he continues to support a second term for Biden. Last week, Putin emphasized that he prefers the “experienced and predictable” Biden over his Republican rival Donald Trump (77). And he sticks to that.

LOOK. Last week, Putin said that he wants to see the “predictable” Biden triumph

“Listen, I recently talked to you and you asked me who would be our preferred future president of the US,” Putin told the journalist. “I said then that we will work with any president, but I still think that Biden is the best option for us, for Russia. And based on what he just said, I know I’m absolutely right.”

In fact, Putin understands Biden’s lashing out, he said. “It’s an appropriate response to things I’ve already said. It is difficult for him to say ‘well done, thank you, you helped me a lot’,” Putin said. “We understand the internal politics in the US, so it is an appropriate response,” he said in a remarkably tolerant tone. “I’ve already said it and I can repeat it: Biden remains the best option,” the president concluded.
