Extreme HousesHidden in the Limburg greenery in Heusden-Zolder is the fairytale doctor’s home of Mathieu and Céline. The two eighty-somethings have been living in their dream house, which consists entirely of recycled material, for more than fifty years. “The support beams come from a castle, the roof tiles from an old farm,” says retired doctor Mathieu (83) in the HLN Original ‘Extreme Huizen’. On the roof there are even 23 cockpit domes from discarded fighter jets that serve as windows. “The architect came across this at the time in an airplane cemetery in Dunkirk.” Discover the unique home below in the full episode.
