The Russian governor of the Leningrad region did not confirm the suspected cause of the fire. “There were no casualties in the fire at the Novatek terminal in the port of Ust-Luga. The staff has been evacuated,” he wrote only on Telegram.
The affected terminal is located in a port in the Russian part of the Gulf of Finland, about 170 kilometers west of Saint Petersburg and 35 kilometers from the border with Estonia.
