Ski star breaks out in tears after reporter question

The Norwegian cross -country skier Heidi Weng took the question of a reporter. The journalist of the TV broadcaster NRK asked Weng about her Swedish competitor Linn Svahn, who had to cancel the current ski World Cup in Trondheim. Svahn had fallen in training and had suffered a concussion.
This aroused painful memories of the spring of 2022 when she herself suffered a concussion and made difficult times. “I have to admit that I started crying when I heard the message. And I am sure that I will cry now,” said the 33-year-old with tears in her eyes before she could no longer stop them.
Heidi Weng had to struggle with dizziness several times. In her, small ear crystals were discovered that influence the equilibrium system of the inner ear by reacting to changes in the head position. Not an isolated case, even in Germany, millions of people are affected every year.
Even if the crystals can no longer be found in the ear, a certain sensitivity has remained. Weng has problems with excessive noise, and training with music in the ear is no longer possible.
In my thoughts at Linn Svahn, Weng now said: “I very much hope that she will let it go at the beginning. In the first few days it should be careful.”
And it seems that the long runner and the Sweden’s medical team are doing exactly that. Because according to media reports, everyone involved does not want to rush anything. Even an early end for the current season is conceivable.
