Shortly after the Christmas special, streaming giant Amazon Prime Video now announces the complete cast of the fifth season of “LOL: Last One Laughing”. Production of the new episodes has already started.
In the coming episodes of the comedy show, in addition to the already well-known gag greats Hazel Brugger, Mirja Boes, Ralf Schmitz, Michael Kessler, Torsten Sträter, Olaf Schubert and Meltem Kaptan, this time there will also be actor Elyas M’Barek, singer and presenter Ina Müller as well as the comedian and mime Otto Waalkes are in front of the camera.
Of course, Michael “Bully” Herbig, who is the host and presenter of the show, will also be there again.
50,000 euros in prize money for a good cause
How does the format work again? The celebrities spend time together in a room for six hours and are filmed – similar to “Big Brother”. All of the invited guests are known for their good/crazy/idiosyncratic sense of humor, but the challenge in this program is that no one is allowed to laugh during this period at any cost. And if that happens: Anyone who laughs twice gets thrown out. And whoever laughs last will win prize money of 50,000 euros – the sum will then be donated to a good cause.
The person who manages to keep the corners of their mouth down the longest is chosen as the winner. Under constant observation by host Herbig, every facial glitch is examined closely. For six episodes, you as a viewer are there as gags are told and presented to each other that don’t really work in the best case scenario.
