Logistics company Kuehne + Nagel is largely ending business with Russia

The logistics group Kuehne + Nagel is shutting down its business with Russia and Belarus because of the sanctions in the Ukraine war. All shipments to Russia are suspended with immediate effect, the company said on Wednesday in Schindellegi, Switzerland. The stop applies to air freight, sea freight and truckloads. However, there are exceptions: Pharmaceuticals and health products in general (healthcare) as well as humanitarian aid goods should continue to be transported.

The competitor DHL had previously also discontinued its transport shipments. Financially, the step has only limited consequences for the logistics industry: Kuehne + Nagel, for example, makes less than two percent of its group sales in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. K+N has also discontinued its transport business in the Ukraine. (dpa)
