Several Berlin LKA officers are said to have worked privately for Bushido and his family after the end of state personal protection. According to the police, they are said to have misused official resources and violated regulations. Disciplinary and criminal proceedings are ongoing against several officials. This is reported by “Die Welt”.
Police leadership takes drastic consequences
The Berlin police leadership has reacted: the personal protection commissioner concerned was dissolved and all officers were transferred. The associated command was also closed with immediate effect. The aim is to “rule out influence and connections,” says an official statement.
Deputy Police Chief Marco Langner explained that personal protection requires “absolute loyalty to the state and unrestricted integrity.” Only corruption-free action can ensure trust in the work of the police.
Suspicion: Police officers continued to work for Bushido
After state protection ended at the beginning of 2024, Bushido is said to have privately hired the same officials who previously looked after him officially – including the head of the commissariat. The aim was apparently to protect against further threats from those around the Abou Chaker clan, with whom Bushido has been at odds for years. It is being determined whether the officers received money for their services or carried service weapons. There are also indications of impermissible favors. For example, furniture from Bushido’s villa or a private party on a houseboat.
Internal warnings were apparently ignored
According to media reports, there were earlier indications that the officials had private sideline activities. Two police officers promised in writing that they would refrain from these operations in the future. Without any apparent consequences. The Berlin police announced that they would comprehensively investigate all incidents and pursue a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and disloyalty.
