The record will be released on October 13, 2023. The single “Main Grau” can already be heard.
LIZ released the single “Main Grau” on Thursday (June 16). On Wednesday (June 21st) she announced her second album AMY WINEHOUZE. It is scheduled for release on October 13, 2023.
The precursor “Main Grau” shows the Frankfurt rapper more thoughtful and mature than on previous tracks. Melancholy, she works through her love-hate relationship with the Main metropolis. Musically, she chooses a melodic approach, she sings most of the track’s lines, interrupted by only a short rap part. Only a reduced piano melody accompanies LIZ in her emotional performance. Towards the end, hip-hop drums and bass complement the instrumental.
According to a press release, LIZ deliberately chose the title for the upcoming record. AMY WINEHOUZE is to be understood as a bow to the British singer, with whom the rapper has some parallels. As women, both had to work out their position in the male-dominated music industry. LIZ would also share Amy Winehouse’s notorious fear of failure.
LIZ released her debut album BLEIBE REAL in February 2021. In addition to some EPs, she released her second record MONA LIZA in 2022.
