In 2020 and 2021, thanks to the help of the Housing Agency, at least 206 social tenants were caught in domicile fraud, usually because they actually lived elsewhere. “In certain cases, people even sublet their social housing,” said Flemish Minister of Housing Matthias Diependaele (N-VA). “That is really blatant fraud.”
