Liverpool FC’s form curve continues to clearly point upwards. The Premier League leaders also won the round of 16 in the FA Cup after winning the Carabao Cup on Sunday against Chelsea. Coach Jürgen Klopp’s team defeated Southampton FC 3-0.
Klopp again had to do without many players who were injured or injured. Therefore, he relied on a few young stars who were on the pitch alongside a few experienced players. Joe Gomez, who is usually the all-purpose weapon in defense, moved into defensive midfield.
Jürgen Klopp was full of praise: “The way he played was strong.” At the same time, the successful German coach also had one point of criticism: the long-range shots of his defender. Because they are too imprecise. He shoots from 40 yards away (about 36 meters) because people demand it. That makes me angry.”
The next chance is on Saturday
Gomez has been playing for Liverpool since 2015 and has played more than 200 games in the Reds jersey since then. The now 26-year-old national player has never scored a goal. He was only successful once for the reserve team.
Gomez can make his next attempt next Saturday when he visits Nottingham Forest with Liverpool FC. If Jürgen Klopp has his way, the shot should at least be fired near the penalty area.
