Liverpool FC extends their lead

League leaders FC Liverpool presented in the English Premier League and successfully defended their top spot.

German team manager Jürgen Klopp’s team won 4-1 (1-0) at Brentford FC and consolidated top spot. Champions Manchester City dropped points in the evening with a 1-1 (0-1) draw in the top game against Chelsea FC and gave away their advantage from playing one game less.

Coach Pep Guardiola’s Skyblues fell back to third place due to the draw. Former City player Raheem Sterling took the lead for Chelsea after a counterattack (42nd), Rodri (83rd) scored a well-deserved equalizer. Despite their overwhelming superiority, City couldn’t turn the game around.

He set up Leandro Trossard to make it 4-0 (66′), before Havertz himself scored the final point (78′). The other goals were scored by Martin Odegaard (4th) and double packer Bukayo Saka (41st, penalty kick, 47th).
