Will Stefanos Tzimas become the most expensive Greek of all time? As the English portal “Anfield Watch” reports, Liverpool FC is interested in signing the 19-year-old talent from 1. FC Nürnberg. Accordingly, Tzimas should move this winter – for a considerable sum.
Liverpool are apparently ready to pay around 30 million euros for the Greek. Last week there were even talks between Nuremberg, Liverpool and Paok Saloniki, which loaned Tzimas to the club. The striker’s advisor was also included in the preliminary negotiations, it is said. In the current season, Tzimas has eight goals and two assists.
Keeper Ron-Thorben Hoffmann, who is facing a change, was missing from the start of the training week for second division club FC Schalke 04. The club announced that the sports management had released the 25-year-old for discussions with other clubs. 1. FC Köln is broadening its defensive staff for its targeted return to the Bundesliga. As the second division autumn champions announced on Monday, central defender Joel Schmied is moving from the Swiss first division club FC Sion to the Rhine. The 26-year-old Swiss signed a contract until 2029; according to media reports, the transfer fee is said to be between two and a half and three million euros.
Schmied played 21 competitive games for Sion this season and scored three goals. He is the second new signing at FC after FIFA’s transfer ban ended. In mid-December, Cologne presented Bosnian international Jusuf Gazibegović after the sanction was lifted with immediate effect.
The Cologne team was not allowed to register any new players in the last two transfer periods. The reason was a ban by the world association as a result of the signing of the then 16-year-old Slovenian Jaka Potocnik in January 2022. His former club Olimpia Ljubljana had accused the Cologne team of inciting a breach of contract and complained to FIFA.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from SSC Napoli is on the verge of leaving. Before the weekend’s duel against Hellas Verona (2-0), coach Antonio Conte confirmed his desire for an immediate change: “Kvara asked the club to be allowed to change. I spoke to the player and he confirmed his decision.” The striker was already missing from the squad.
Recently there was speculation about a departure to Paris Saint-Germain. There is a transfer fee of 80 million euros in the room. Kvaratskhelia came to Naples in 2022, coach Conte would have liked to keep him.
